Fun Things to do in Helena

In the tradition of Montana’s “Big Sky” nickname, Helena doesn’t disappoint! This beautiful capitol city introduces kids to beautiful open spaces to play in, and nature to enjoy.

The Helena National Forest is nearly…wait for it…a MILLION acres engulfed by forests. Hike, fish or swim…amazing family fun! Ice-skating in the winter is even possible at places like Springs Meadow Lake State Park.

Of course, the city is so much more than an amazing outdoor playground!  There are museums to teach kids as they have a great time. They can learn about Newton’s laws at ExplorationWorks, with fun interactive exhibits.

The Montana Historical Society has over 50,000 items that celebrate the state, and the Holter Museum of Art has fun events for kids.
