A Marine Wonderland in the Heart of London!

Down snuggled along the busy South Bank, SEA LIFE London Aquarium provides an unbeatable journey into the underwater realm. It is one of the best attractions in town, a must-visit destination for families as it combines education, excitement and awe. The Family Days Out team visited last weekend and had a fantastic time exploring this incredible Merlin attraction.

The aquarium is home to over a staggering 500 species across 14 wonderfully laid out dedicated areas, each carefully designed to carefully replicate their natural habitats.

Themed Zones and Key Exhibits

Ocean Tunnel

Walk through the amazing underwater tunnel where there is a huge ocean tank full of marine life such as sharks, rays and tropical fish among others on display. This gives one an illusion like they are submerged into water through the 360-degree view. Be aware it can be quite a daunting prospect to look up and see an enormous shark gracefully floating past without a worry in the world.

Penguin Point

Here, you will find an adorable company of Gentoo penguins in a glass frozen land that enables visitors to watch these playful animals at close range. It is a temperature-controlled environment which mimics the natural Antarctic habitat for year-round comfort. We loved watching these little guys waddle around and their habitat was incredibly detailed.

Rainforest Adventure

Get a glimpse of the enormous human Amazon rainforest with its lush greenery and dense humidity. In this zone there are piranhas, golden dart poison frogs and an impressive arapaima fish. This area highlights one of the world’s most crucial ecosystems, and spreads awareness about conservation. The kids loved learning about this magical place and were big fans of the frogs and Piranha.

Ocean Invaders

This is an incredible zone with the largest collection of jellyfish in UK. The ethereal atmosphere created by interactive displays and stunning light effects show how beautiful and diverse these gelatinous creatures are. Its almost like being in some sci-fci film as the gentle move around looking like something from another planet.
