ZooMontana is a beautiful zoo located in Billings, Montana, and offers an array of animal and plant populations native to northern latitude climates that the kids can experience and learn all about!
During your time at this Montana favorite, the whole family can come face to face with some pretty impressive creatures!
You might see grizzly bears, stunning amur tigers, playful red pandas, and those iconic big horn sheep. You might just spot a wolverine!
Kids can also enjoy hands-on animal interactions in the Barnyard area, with domestic goats, rabbits, horses and even bison!
Also at the zoo is a Discovery Center and Living Wall, as well as a sensory garden when you want to take a break from all the exploration.
For those active kids, there is also a fun playground to enjoy too!

I’m Hungry! Can I get food at ZooMontana?
Concessions can be found on zoo grounds during the summer.
Any top tips when visiting?
Cooler days are the best time to visit the zoo, as all of the animals are VERY active during this time! Also check on any feedings or shows on the day of your visit so you can plan your day around what you want to see!
Does ZooMontana have a gift shop?
Be sure to visit the Gift Shop for some fun items to remember your visit. They have plush animals, magnets, key chains, postcards, Montana souvenirs and so much more! All gift shop profits support ZooMontana’s operations costs, so your purchase goes directly to the care of the animals!
Teachers corner
ZooMontana offers tour guides throughout the year, and also offers many additional education programs. They offer group rates for more than 15 in the party too!
Is ZooMontana fully accessible?
The trails are completely paved, so you may access all of the exhibits by wheelchair. Strollers and wheelchairs available for rent at the Front Gate and Gift Shop. Service animals are permitted
