Did you ever think that if you were in Vermont, that your family day out might consist of visiting a REAL castle? Well, if you head to Wilson Castle, that's exactly what will happen!
Wilson Castle is the only really castle in the entire state of Vermont, and is considered an architectural masterpiece. It dates back from the 19th Century, so kids will not only get to experience a truly unique experience, but also a history lesson at the same time!
The castle was actually home to five generations of the Wilson family - what a great place to grow up!
As you wander around, try and pick out what you think was influenced by Europe. You might notice the English marble facade too.
Wilson Castle is set on a HUGE 115 acres, and with three floors and 32 rooms, there is SO much to explore!
The best way to explore this historical wonder is through their daily castle tours. These are led by a very knowledgeable guide, who can give you a sense of how people really lived in this amazing place.
Kids, can you just imagine how different life would have been if you grew up on this 115 acre estate? Can you imagine the families wandering the halls, the sights, the sounds the scents....
If you want to try something really fun at Wilson Castle, why not jump on one of their Haunted Castle Tours too! Great for those Halloween treats, these tours run through October and you might just encounter one of the other residents of the castle!
