About Wildwood Park

Spending the day in Harrisburg and wanting a little nature? In the middle of a city? Yep! Wildwood Park is all tucked away in the rolling hills on the edge of the city, and gives families an escape into nature for the day!

There is SO much to do at Wildwood Park! The Nature Center is a great way to start your day out, and kids can experience nature from the inside-out! They can climb through a tree, read a book, or even have a book read to them by parents in the reading room.

Those little ones who LOVE birds can watch these beautiful creatures from a special glass enclosure which overlooks the lake, and there are a number of bird feeders that attract a number of species! The Nature Center is a great way to be outside - but inside in a nice controlled atmosphere!

Want to really get outside? Get those walking shoes on and hit those trails! There are a number of trails to pick from, each with different distances and terrains. From the short and simple, to the difficult with hills and dirt paths, there is something for all the hikers in the family!

Bring your bikes down and go for a ride, or bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the wildlife around you as you enjoy family time!

Wildwood Park also hold a number of events across the year which are great for kids. From learning the art of tracking animals, to story reading by a naturalist, as well as hands-on activities like crafts (and that one is JUST for kids - even better!) With volunteer days to introduce kids to helping the environment, to Hiking 101, there will be something you will be wanting to put in the diary.

Amazing nature fun and a great way to spend the day as a family? We think so! Wildwood Park is waiting for you!
