Named after the Washoe Indians - the original inhabitants of the area, it's a beautiful place to bring the family. The park is teeming with wildlife, including deer, hawks, coyotes, and eagles, and there are a ton of bird species including pelicans to enjoy!
Sand dunes anyone? Yep! The sand dunes of Lake Washoe were formed very very slowly over thousands of years. Make sure you tread lightly though and stay on the pathways, as they are very delicate!

There are equestrian facilities, as well a great boat launching ramps and many hiking trails.
