Built in 1893, this spectacular Gilded Age "cottage" is a fascinating insight into American History, and the lives of those who lived it.  You can experience history for yourself through tours, informative lectures, exhibits, fun plays, entertaining concerts, and the "simply most splendid" Victorian Teas and Picnics on the Porch.  Charmed I'm sure!

The property has a fascinating history in itself, being connected to Civil war hero Col. Robert Gould Shaw, who was brave enough to lead the first African-American regiment in the North.  

For those fashion lovers, there is a stunning exhibit of 61 utterly exquisite Victorian Ladies in costume - "The Little Ladies Of Fashion" - where you will be amazed how much each one is its own work of art!  We're told that it took over 30 years to create - that's dedication!

The Museum of the Gilded Age depicts the great changes that occurred throughout the American way of living, the industry and society during the Nineteenth Century.  A truly captivating time in American history, and one that is worth the whole family immersing themselves in.
