USC Pacific Asia Museum
About USC Pacific Asia Museum
For those art loving families who love immersing themselves in culture, art and history, then the USC Pacific Asia Museum might just be your cup of tea.
Before you even enter the museum you are surrounded by art. The building and garden reflect a northern Chinese architecture found nowhere else in the US. It's almost regal. Then once inside you can take in over 15,000 incredible works of art that tell a rich history of the people who once called Asia and the Pacific region home - from today all the way back to ancient times!
That's a pretty long story to tell!
As you walk around, really have a look at the sculptures and the paintings. What do you think was happening in the lives of the people in the painting at the time? What do you think the statue means?
Art is filled with stories, emotions and history from those whose lives it has touched. Imagine what those stories are.
Take a look at the colors, and the textures. What else do you see in the paintings?
The museum is more than a place for you to sit back and admire art. It has on-going programs and classes where you can really get into the world of art. Learn the technique of Chinese Brush Painting, or enjoy learning the art of Chinese Calligraphy - a beautiful tradition in Asia.
For something a bit more upbeat you might join the Hawaiian Music event where you can learn how to play the fun ukulele or guitar!
Step back in time through art.
