About University of Iowa Museum of Natural History

The world is an AMAZING place, and museums such as the University of Iowa Museum of Natural History is a great way to really learn, understand and explore everything that is wonderful about this planet!

Kids will love getting up close to a massive selection of mammals and seeing how they are different to each other, and unique in their own right - from the adorable aardvark all the way to the very awesome zebra (and everything in between A and Z) in the Mammal Hall.  What is the funniest animal you can spot?  There are probably ones you have never heard of!

The kids can understand and learn of over 1,000 birds through interactive exhibits, and the global environment will come to life in the Biosphere Discovery Hall.

Fancy taking a trip back 500 million years?  Why not!  If we had a time capsule, we would recommend this, but the second best option is to witness how life was like through Iowa Hall - a 500 million year adventure through the states cultural, ecological and geological history.

There is also the fascinating Diversity of Life exhibit which is exploding with history including a very interesting section on taxidermy!  Don't know what that is?  You might get quite a shock then!

The museum also hold educational programs including workshops, lectures, field trips and movies which revolve around the natural environment so at a small additional cost, you can expand your learning!

Love the world! And it will love you.
