The Slackyard Gym
About The Slackyard Gym
Ever heard of "slacklining"? Neither had we until now! That's probably because it's a super new sports craze that is taking over the world - and it's also taken over The Slackyard in Wisconsin!
Slacklining is a very cool and challenging sport where you have to walk, and balance, and even do tricks (good luck!) on a stretch of webbing that is about 1 or 2 inches wide, held between two anchors.
For beginners, you can try this 1 foot above the ground, or you can try it HUNDREDS of feet about the ground! (For those more advanced slackliners, of course!). The lines can range from anywhere - from 10 feet long, to hundreds. It's a great sport because you can see yourself improving - moving higher and higher above the ground, making your way along the ground further and further away.
Did you know that The Slackyard is the FIRST indoor gym that's dedicated to slacklining? Well it is, so ever more reason to go there and check it out! If you have never done it before - don't worry! The lovely people at the gym are happy to get you started and run through everything you need to know about being a slacker (and no, parents, not in the sense you worry about!)
They offer kids an encouraging environment, and will help anyone to take their first step, to taking their first flip (yep - you can flip on it! It's like gymnastics!)
Anyone can slackline, and its a great sport to keep the whole family active. Parents - that includes you! They have found kids over 8 really take it it more than the younger kids, but they certainly have had their fair share of kids as young as 5 fall in love with it.
Ready to improve your balance, coordination, and have a great time with ALL of the family? The Slackyard is waiting!
