About The Millyard Museum
Housed in Mill No 3 in the historic Amoskeag Millyard, the Millyard Museum tells the story of Manchester's history, and those people who lived and worked there - and made it was it is today!
The permanent exhibit at the Millyard Museum is the "Woven in Time: 11,000 Years and Amoskeag Falls". Here you can learn all about the rich history of Manchester, starting with the native people who fished in the falls yep - 11,000 years ago! That's a lot of history!
You can go on to explore the displays on the area's early farmers and lumbermen, and of course the beginnings of industry in the area.
The exhibit goes on the tell the story of the development of the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company, which would go on to become one of the largest textile producing companies in the entire WORLD!
In fact, the vast brick millyard still dominates the skyline today!
You can also explore the story as it continues into the 20th century, and learn about the innovative businesses that flourished in the city as new groups of immigrants moved to Manchester to start new lives.
The Millyard Museum also features rotating exhibitions on a number of topics, so you can always go back and see something new!

Does The Millyard Museum have a gift shop?
The Museum Shop features a host of gifts and souvenirs that include books on local and regional topics, photographic and art prints, postcards, educational materials, unique brass ornaments and decorative gift items.
Teachers corner
There are a number of educational tours that bring history to life for students! Programs are adaptable for grades K-12. The programs may be used to enliven studies of science, literature, social studies, mathematics, and art, and you can pick from gallery tours, walking tours and more!

Free parking is available in the lots adjacent to the building in the front (200 Bedford Street) and rear (Commercial Street) sides of the building. On street metered parking is also available on the streets surrounding the building.
