About The Buffalo Botanical Gardens

You don't have to get right out into the mountains or plains to enjoy what mother nature has created! At the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens you can have a beautiful experience right in the heart of New York State!

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanic Gardens is a natural historic site, so kids can not only play, but learn a great deal too. It's a popular tourist spot, and there is also an education center to really enhance that experience for all.

The gardens are filled with colorful experiences, gardens, and plants that are just waiting to be explored and enjoyed.

Some of the plants are native to the temperate region of New York State, but most are actually native to sub-tropical and tropical regions of the world, and are pretty spectacular! Kids will be amazed what the rest of the world has to offer when it comes to beautiful plants and gardens.

The Botanical Gardens conservatory is made up of three glass domes, and well as nine greenhouses. It's also on 11.4 acres of historic South Park Buffalo - your own oasis!

A popular stop with the family is the Kids Garden, which has been designed specifically for kids in mind to stimulate the senses. The garden is filled with fragrant herbs, with a colorful butterfly garden, as well as a cascading water feature that highlights the very hands-on landscape.

Kids can really get those hands dirty with the digging areas, and hand operated water pumps, which really do encourage kids to explore the magic of gardening. (Just remind them that they can't dig up the rest of the gardens when they leave the Kids Garden - it can be quite exciting!)

Enjoy a little bit of nature in Buffalo with the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens - you might find some hidden green thumbs in the family!
