Picture yourself travelling in a vintage streetcar through the cobbled streets of Ybor City , a place where any history lover will be in their element! The streetcar system has 11 stops along its 2.7 miles route. These include, the famous entertainment Centro Ybor as well as the picturesque Cadrecha Plaza. Must-See Stops include:
Centro Ybor: A fun place filled with many restaurants, shops and even a cinema. Lots of entertainment in the entertainment hub.
Cadrecha Plaza: A great place for taking some fun family photos.
Whether you’re heading to the Ybor City Museum or catching a special event at Amalie Arena, the streetcar is a fun and easy way to get there!
Learn some fun history whilst riding on a streetcar of the early 1900s , that have been used since 1892, in the former cigar making hub of Ybor City. Also keep your eyes peeled for the local variety of chickens / cockerels that roam freely around the neighborhood. They are descended from the very first chickens that arrived in the 1800's !
Ybor is one of only two US communities designated as a National Historic Landmark District, being recognized for its rich cultural heritage and preserved 19th-century architecture. It was a true melting pot in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, home to immigrants from Cuba, Spain, Italy, and other European countries, which is reflected in its architecture, cuisine, and festivals.
