Sunset Zoo is home to over 250 animal species and YOU get to visit them all on your next family day out in Kansas!
Here, kids can observe these beautiful animals in naturalistic habitats complete with information boards posted to get the most education from it too.
From fish to reptiles, mammals and birds, Sunset Zoo has many of your favorites, and even some you may not have heard of!
Kids can come face to face with the beautiful Amur Leopard, or see the Colobus Monkeys play. There are cheetahs to impress with their speed, and swift fox to admire.
Head Down Under and see the wallabies, or visit the plains of Africa as you learn all about the zebu and Giant Anteater.
From the tiny dart frog, to the colorful flamingo and intimidating vultures, there is a whole world of learning opportunities waiting for the kids!
During summer you can drop in on keeper chats, conservation talks and feedings including chimpanzee, sloth bear and otter, giving kids an even more in depth insight into all the creatures of the world.

At Sunset Zoo they are committed to our mission of "inspiring conservation of the natural world." Additionally, to maintain their accreditation through the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) they support in-the-field conservation efforts.
Do they have baby facilities?
Double strollers are available to rent for $5 each, single strollers for $4 each, and wagons for $3 each.
I’m Hungry! Can I get food at Sunset Zoo?
Expedition Cafe features a brand-new menu that includes burger and hot dog baskets, slushies, classic snacks like nachos and soft pretzels, sweet treats and more! There are also snacks available in the gift shop. Often only open weekends until the summer period
Any top tips when visiting?
Check the times of any programs and feedings the morning of your visit so you can plan your day around them!
Does Sunset Zoo have a gift shop?
The Zoo's gift shop is open year round when the Zoo is open, and is filled with fun gifts and souvenirs that you can take home to remind you of your day!
Teachers corner
They LOVE to host visits from schools! Half-price admission is available for groups of 20 people or more with two weeks advance notice required. Additional discounts for school groups and 501c3 non-profits available.

Is Sunset Zoo fully accessible?
The Zoo is wheelchair accessible, however inclines near the gibbon and tiger exhibits are steep. They are happy to offer golf cart tours of these areas to guests with two-weeks advance notice. Service animals are welcome at Sunset Zoo and we appreciate any advance notice, but it is not required. All service animals must be certified, easily identified by their vests and remain on a secure lead at all times.
