About Smithsonian Discovery Theater
Founded in 1964 as The Smithsonian Puppet Theater, today the Smithsonian Discovery Theater is where kids can enjoy loads of different live children performances all geared towards them!
Here, they can enjoy the thrill of live entertainment, where the stories come to life right in front of their very eyes! The shows encompass a range of entertainment, from acting, musicians, mime, puppet shows - you name it - it's a great idea for a family day out with the kids!
With every show, they also tell you the age group they are recommended for, so you can be sure that you are taking the kids to the ones perfect for them! During each performance, kids might see their favorite characters perform their favorite tales, or they might get to enjoy seasonal performances pending the time of year. They might even learn something new, or go back in time and learn a part of history!
With shows lasting 40 to 50 minutes, it's a super fun way for kids to experience the magic of the arts, and perhaps even be inspired!
Quick, it's time for curtain call!
