About Salem's Riverfront Carousel

There is something magical about climbing up high on Salem's Riverfront Carousel wooden horse, ready and waiting for that sweet organ music to begin to play.  You hold the horse tightly, looking at the beautiful colors that are painted on it. What do you think it's name would be?

Then, the music starts, and the rides begins!  Slowly, up and down you make your way around, and around, and around the carousel - the gently movement is perfect for those younger kids.

Each horse has its own colors, own personality, and own style so you can ride again and again, picking a new horse each time.

Kids that are under 42" have to be accompanied by an adult, but parents don't worry - you get to ride for free!  There is no charge for you to stand near your child and make sure they are okay as they enjoy their ride!

You can also play the brass ring game as you go round!  If you can catch the brass ring from the salmon's mouth as you pass by, you win a free ride!  So if you want to play, make sure you request a game before you hop on!

They have regular events that you can attend, so keep an eye on their calendar, and if you want to rent it out for your next birthday that's very possible!  Just have a chat to them on the phone or in person as they don't respond to availability requests via emails.

The carousel was inspired by the first old-world style carousel built in the US since the depression, so it captures that authentic innocence that family fun used to be.  Simple, elegant, and magical.
