Ever wanted to see a giraffe up close, or watch a gazelle in all it's glory? Just head to Peoria Zoo and you can do just that - and then some!
Peoria Zoo is a great place to visit with the family if you just want that WILD day out, filled with animals from all over the world, and lots of learning fun!
Kids can come face to face with those delicate white rhinos, or learn all about the zebu. They can watch those cheeky mole rats, or discover what a mandrill is!
Peoria Zoo has creatures from the very small, like the elephant shrew, to the grand - like the African Lion
It's not just mammals at the zoo, either! There are amphibians such as the frog, beautiful birds like the hawk, emu, and laughing kookaburra, and yes - there are invertebrates like the tarantula, and scorpion too!
Be brave!
If kids really want that hands-on experience, the contact barn gives them just that. From the domestic chicken, to goats, koi, donkey and even llamas, kids can really get up as they interact and make new friends.
