About Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo
Palo Also Junior Museum & Zoo is an amazing place for kids! It's filled with hands-on interactive exhibits all revolving around science and nature, AND they even have about 200 animals that call it home.
At the Palo Alto Junior Museum, kids can just have a great time, getting creative, experimenting, and engaging their curiosity, all the while learning about fascinating topics.
The museum wanted to create a place that engage children, where they can come and just explore and discover, and we think they have done just that! It's where their natural scientist will be nurtured!
The creatures, which represent around 50 species, are often used as part of science outreach programs, but they also love having visitors too! From the bobcat, to the hedgehogs, slippery snakes, to fresh water fish and even a giatn tortoise, they are all great to experience up close!
Kids - are you feeling brave? Did you know that the Palo Also Junior Museum & Zoo also has an exhibit where you can come face to face with some pretty cool creatures? This multi-sensory, hands-on experience lets you say hello to those creepy crawlies, such as spiders, insects, millipedes and even anthropods!
This exhibit has not only the living animals, but preseved ones too - eek!
With 2500 sq feet of indoor exhibits, there is plenty to see. Kids can solve problems, build, observe, and let their imaginations soar!

I’m Hungry! Can I get food at Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo?
There are vending machines in the lobby, and food and drink are only permitted in the lobby.
Any top tips when visiting?
Why not have a birthday party at the museum! You and your friends can enjoy fun science activities, as well as a private room for a party! There are options for kids 3 years and up, with special options for older children. Make sure you give them a call about these!
Teachers corner
Throughout the academic year, trained Museum educators bring a wide range of standards-based science programs into K-5 local elementary school classrooms. Programs can be tailored to what you need! They can also come to you, so give them a call for this unique educational experience!
Does Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo have healthy eating or Vegan options?
There are picnic tables in the front of the museum so why not bring your own food and enjoy it!
Is Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo fully accessible?
They welcome everyone of all abilities! There are trained staff for children with special needs, parking, and wheelchair accessible exhibits.

The animals are put to bed an hour before closing, and onsite parking is free!
