Orpheum Theatre
About Orpheum Theatre
There is nothing quite like the excitement of a live performance - the hush over the crowd, then the lights going down, the applause building, and then you get to experience something magical happening LIVE in front of your eyes!
The Orpheum Theatre is just the place to experience that!
This nonprofit performing arts center can be found in the heart of downtown Wichita, and offers a number of types of live performances including concerts, comedy nights, and live stage shows, plus there is also a screen to enjoy the greatest of films!
Built back in 1922, this historic theatre was designed by architect John Eberson (reason enough to go and check it out!), and features world-class entertainment for the entire family. It's this architectural significance along with the beauty, rich history and location, that makes the Orpheum Theatre a culturally-filled niche within the Wichita community.
It's also a great resource for local and national music, dance and theatre - and gives kids a chance to experience something outside of that magical story-time experience they know and love.
So whether it's a laughter filled evening enjoying one of the best comedians around, or hearing your favorites songs played live that you know and love, or opening the family up to different cultures and experiences - the Orpheum Theatre might just be the place to be!
