About Oregon Historical Museum
The past comes to life at the Oregon Historical Museum in Portland! There are a number of permanent exhibits, as well as changing exhibits, that explore a number of themes and topics, piecing together the story of one of the most beautiful and fascinating states in the USA.
Oregon Voices explore the important ideas, people and events that shaped the state in the modern era, from the end of WWII, right through to present day
Kids can learn about the swelling of the Columbia River in 1948, and how 18,000 people found themselves homeless as a result, altering race relations in Portland forever.
History Hub is always great for kids, with hands-on interactives, objects and pictures opening up the topic of diversity (with a focus for kids in 4th to 8th grades), and of course, you have Experience Oregon.
This exhibit discusses what is so special about the state, yet still complex and distinctive. It's here you can really explore the past, and how all those factors led to what you know today
Then you have the changing exhibits (as well as online exhibits) that touch on specific themes, from local beer history, to photographers, or a portrait of a local high school
