About Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park

Old Vegas Mormon State Historic Park is located in downtown Las Vegas, and is the first permanent non-native settllemen in the Las Vegas Valley. It feature historic remains of an adobe fort bult by Mormon missionaries along with a spring-fed-creek in 1855. 

Today, the park includes a remnant of the original adobe fort, which serves as a visitor center with interpretive displays. There are a multitude of historic artifacts and exhibits and photos that illustrate the history of the site. 

There are picnic tables located within the park, along with restrooms and a gift shop to pick up something to remember your day by. They often run special programs throughout the year, so make sure you head to the kiosk or speak to one of the staff members to find out what's happened where and when. 

They can even arrange special presentations for groups too, so give them a call!

More than 150 yeard ago, a spring-fed creek flowed through the Las Vegas Valley, which created an oasis in the desert! It was the only free-flowing water and grass for miles around and attracted lots of people! Come and take a visit at this historic site that will provide an educational exerience for everyone.
