About North Carolina Zoo

Get ready to take a walk on the wild side! North Carolina Zoo is a whopping 500 acres filled with animals from across two continents, where the whole family can come face to face with weird and wonderful animals.

It's not only a place for fun and excitement, but learning. All of the exhibits have been created to resemble the natural habitats of the animals, so kids can witness the animals how they would act in their own wild! Imagine coming face to face with these amazing wild beasts!

Ever wanted to go on safari in Africa? At North Carolina Zoo, you can explore the exhibits which will make you feel like you are on those magical plains! Make sure you leave about 2 hours to explore this region - there's a LOT to see!

For all those bird loving families, the Aviary is where you will love the most. The R.J Reynold Forest Aviary is an amazing collections of over 3,000 tropical plants, as well as dozens of exotic birds. How many species do you think you will find!

Of course, you're in North Carolina, so what better way to celebrate the animals of the USA, than in the North American exhibit! From creatures from the hot Sonoran Desert, to that cold and ice Rocky Coast, kids will be surprised how many creatures there are from their own country!

Make sure you allow about 3 hours for this section because there's certainly a LOT to see!

We told you that North Carolina Zoo is more than just animals though! The KidZone is a GREAT place for those kids aged 2 to 10, with nature play areas, as well as a stream to splash around in (so don't forget those rain boots!)

With a carousel and a place to actually hand feed giraffes, we think you will have a ROAR-ing time at North Carolina Zoo!
