About Newport Art Museum
Explore the wonderful world of art at the Newport Art Museum in Rhode Island, with a permanent collection and changing exhibitions that focus on the visual arts of Newport and southeastern New England.
These collections and works of art reflect both the rich heritage of the past, and the lively art scene of the present, so a visit here becomes so much more than just an art experience!
The permanent collection consists of around 2,600 works of art in a whole range of media, from works on paper (that's prints, drawings, and photographs), to paintings, sculptures, installations, textiles, decorative arts and more.
See kids, art is so much more than just paintings!
The collection features amazing American art from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, and a growing collection from the 21st century too!
It's great for kids to see how art changes over the centuries, and the perfect place to get kids talking about colors, and techniques, and culture.
Don't forget to check out the changing exhibitions too, where you can go back and see new and exciting artists and techniques, to even further your creative New England art experience!
There are even fun events for kids across the year too, such as Wake + Create, where kids aged 6 to 10 years can actually create their own works of art based on a theme given. Yes caregivers, you can enjoy this too! Unleash your inner Picasso!
So get ready for that art-attack at the Newport Art Museum, because there is plenty of art fun to be had!
