About Nevada State Museum
The Nevada State Museum has grown into one of the finest museums in the American West. Providing educational exhibits and programs celebrating Nevada’s natural and cultural heritage continues today – over 80 years. Every Saturday from 11:00 am -3:00 pm Historic Coin Press No. 1 is demonstrated. On the 2nd Saturday of the month family craft activities happen in the museum auditorium. Families will enjoy exploring exhibits about minting, mining, living in this unique environment and the rocks and minerals found in Nevada.

Does Nevada State Museum have a gift shop?
The Nevada State Museum Store is open from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Tuesday through Sunday.
The store carries an excellent selection of Nevada books, t-shirts, jewelry, and unique gift items. Remember, your museum membership gets you 15% off store merchandise every day (fundraising, consignment, and NV150 items excluded).
How are the facilities at the attraction?
Parking is available in the free public lot on the west side of Curry St. behind the museum. Street parking limited to two hours. Persons with disabilities may use the designated spaces in the small lot directly west of the museum.
Any additonal information?
Did you know? In addition to tours of the permanent and changing exhibits, the museum offers a large number of interactive science and art programs that meet curriculum standards. These hands-on programs are limited to 30 students and require 5-6 adult chaperones. Allow at least one hour (ideally 1 ½ hours) to complete each program.
