TheNaval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museumis a historic day out for the family, before you ever start looking at the exhibits! You see, the museum is housed in Hangar #1, which was actually a former Naval Aviation base during WWII, AND is listed on the National and New Jersey State Registers of Historic Places, so already you are surrounded by aviation history!
Once inside, you can find all manner of engines, aircraft and interactive displays with a wealth of related activities. In fact, there are over 26 actual aircraft displays, where kids can see real historic aircraft!
This popular aviation museum also offers a number of interactive experiences for the kids. They can climb a real life air traffic tower, and sit in a cockpit - just imagine what it would have been like to fly these planes in battle. Well, head on over to the flight simulator games and you can do just that!
Kids can explore the science of flight with interactive displays, and go back in time to the 1940s exhibit room, and see what life looked like 70 years ago!
With aircraft, propellors, engines, and a whole host of amazing artifacts within the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum, it might just be time to FLY into your next family day out!

Wheelchairs may be checked out at the Information Desk at no cost. The Museum has ramps available for wheelchairs at each minor change in level. Seasonal restrooms are accessible, call ahead at other times.
