Only minutes from the stunning Mount Rushmore, the National Presidential Wax Museum offers a fun and patriotic experience for the whole family, where you can meet over 100 wax figures (which are very lifelike!), and this includes the change to meet all 45 US Presidents!
Who are you excited to meet the most?
All of the wax figures are depicted in stunning visual recreations of iconic moments in their presidential history, so not only can kids SEE their favorite Presidents up close, but also learn about the history surrounding their time in office.
As you stroll around with your self-guided audio tour, you can learn all about the stories behind the faces, and the context and history of every scene.
Don't miss the 7-minute theater video that tells the story of the ten artists that created these masterpieces, and how they achieved such lifelike appearances.
Other exhibits within the National Presidential Wax Museum including original oil paintings by the famed artisr Harvey Dunn, as well as an original voting booth from the 2000 Florida election!
Also on display are life and death masks cast from the actual faces of the presidents themselves, as well as historical figures, and those famous silver-screen movie stars.

Any top tips when visiting?
Guests with children can request a “scavenger hunt” from the ticket sales counter. Their scavenger hunt is a series of 20 questions, the answers to which are found by listening to the audio wand or inspecting the historic wax scenes with a keen eye. Kids love to search the museum for clues to complete this mission! Kids can show their completed scavenger hunt at the front counter to receive a free National Presidential Wax Museum button!
Does National Presidential Wax Museum have a gift shop?
The National Presidential Wax Museum boasts a huge gift shop filled with unique and quirky gifts that can’t be found anywhere else in the Black Hills!
