About Museum of Ventura County
Museum of Ventura County offers children the chance to explore with their family in order to inspire connection, compassion and curiosity about the community. MVC offers a variety of programs, events, summer camps and more all designed with family in mind. Start your visit in the cozy and inpired Children's Nook reading a book focused on an exhibit-centric topic together, then move to the rotating exhibits in the main gallery which have exciting interactive componants suitable for all ages. After exiting the main gallery, peruse our native archeological items as well as the George Stewart figures before heading out to the Children's Sound Garden where youth can play with sound, enjoy the sandbox, native plant life and plenty of shady places to sit. Museum entry is free in 2023.
Museum of Ventura County has a second location, the Agriculture Museum in Santa Paula, which also includes a children's farm - to - market interactive play area and more. Programs at this location include the yearly Honeybee day, highlighting the importance of pollinators. If you aren't able to make it to Honeybee Day, guests can visit the Agriculture Museum's honeybee hive anytime with indoor glassed-off viewing of hive activity.

Downtown Ventura has many different food offerings in walking distance. Picnic lunches are welcome in the Museum outdoor space, as well.
Any top tips when visiting?
Museum parking is free so visit us first, then walk around lovely Downtown Ventura after!
Does Museum of Ventura County have a gift shop?
The Museum has a small gift shop supporting local vendors.
Teachers corner
Educators: MVC offers yearly school tours free of charge with a bus grant for title 1 schools in the County. MVC also offers many resources, and the Education Department is headed by a prior educator! Reach out anytime with questions or feedback.
