About Museum of Discovery and Science

Of course science is fun! Do you think it's boring to experience hurricane force winds in a Storm Center? Do you think it's boring to dig for fossils right near a giant megaldon shark? Or do you think it's boring to test your pilot skills in a cockpit simulator?

Of course not - but it's all science!

The Fort Lauderdale Museum of Discovery and Science will give the whole family incredible interactive fun when visiting all of the exhibitions.

The EcoDiscovery Center lets you take a ride on the Everglades Airboat Adventure - did you think you'd be doing that on a trip to a museum!? You can also enjoy the playful side of some river otters, or check out some of the exciting theater shows.

The other interactive exhibits have a host of animals waiting for you - that's right - animals! You can see sharks as well as the largest living Atlantic coral reef that's in captivity right at your feet, or you can hang out with bats (of course you want to!).  There is a 12 foot snake (eek!) as well as pet alligators, turtles and iguanas. (Don't go getting any ideas now!)

You can learn all about those famous Floridian Everglades in the Living In The Everglades exhibit, or you can discover space as you take a simulated trip to the Moon or Mars! Pretty crazy! The Discovery Center is designed specially for kids under 7, so make sure you really get the most out of it!

And of course, no trip to a museum is every complete without experiencing an IMAX film, and the Museum of Discovery and Science is no different! Take in the BIGGEST screen in South Florida, at a whopping 5 stories high! They also have 42 speakers. You read that right. 42. An incredible experience!

So...are you ready to discovery science? We bet you are! The Museum of Discovery and Science is waiting for you!
