About Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville
It's all about the wonderful world of art at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville! Also known as MOCA Jacksonville, this family day out experience can give kids a day of inspiration, and creativity, and appreciation.
There are always a number of permanent exhibitions at MOCA Jacksonville, as well as temporary ones. This means kids can always visit their favorites, but see something new at the same time.
The beauty of MOCA is that children can learn that art isn't just paintings. The exhibits cover a range of "art", including sculptures, photography, sketches and more.
MOCA Jacksonville primarily collects work from the 1960s to presents. The permanent collection consists of about 1,000 works of art, which is pretty incredible! Works on paper, new media and printmaking add to the list of art forms that can be seen.
It's a great way for children to start exploring what art means to them, and seeing their opinions on it all. Suitable for the older children, MOCA Jacksonville might even just inspire the family to become the next Picasso of their own!
The museum also offer creative art experiences for families and children, as well as plenty of educational offerings for them too.

Do they have baby facilities?
Baby strollers are permitted at all times, but food or drink accompanying stroller must be checked. Stroller parking is available near on the fifth floor near the Art Explorium.
I’m Hungry! Can I get food at Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville?
If you want to support the work of the artists, eat at the NOLA MOCA, which serves lunch 11am - 2pm weekdays. It's a good idea to make reservations.
Teachers corner
MOCA Jacksonville's Art Camp offers creative art-making for ages 4-14. Experienced art educators teach a variety of media and skills while providing the contemporary art history context for each project.

Is Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville fully accessible?
All galleries and facilities are wheelchair accessible. A wheelchair is available upon request; please see the front desk associate. The wheelchair is available free of charge; leaving a driver’s license or other identification with the front desk is required.
Any additonal information?
Sketching is permitted in the galleries (pencil only, no ink or paint) with sketchbooks no larger than 8½ x 11 inches (21.6 x 27.9 cm). Easels and sitting on the floor are not permitted. Please see a security officer to request a stool while sketching in the galleries.
