Museum of Childrens Art
About Museum of Childrens Art
We know, sometimes it's hard for kids to not try and touch things as they walk around museums. They are excited about what they see - they want to express that!
Luckily for you, Oakland's Museum of Children's Art (MOCHA) is a museum with a difference! It's a museum where they have dedicated spaces for kids to be interactive, and creative. A place where the whole family can connect, creative, share and explore all through art!
Now that's our kind of museum!
Art can have an impact on kids in so many ways, and the museum has been witness to this over the many years they have been operating. They have seen the improvements of kids creative thinking as well as their cognitive development.
Parents, on the other hand, have seen kids have a great time in a museum and see their eyes light up as they creatively put all those colors and shapes they can see in their head onto paper!
The Open Space ares is where artists just like you - from the little ones in the family to the parents - are free to create and explore whatever may interest you. The museum have materials available for you, and have lovely staff there to suggest fun age appropriate activities, and offer up any technical advice you might need!
The Museum of Children's Art also have exhibitions where they love to promote all the art creations from - yep - kids! What better way for kids to really appreciate art than to see what kids their own age are creating. It might inspire them to pick up a brush!
Want to celebrate your next birthday in a really cool and creative way (and one where you can get your hands messy!?) The Museum of Children's Art are happy to provide a teacher and materials for your special occasion.
Keep an eye out for the special events the museum hold, like the popular ARTventures where it's all about creating projects based on a certain theme.
All you need is to make sure you bring your creativity and get your fingers ready to start painting!
