The wonderfully incredibly world of nature comes to life at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science in Jackson! Tucked away in historic LeFleur's Bluff State Park, the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science overlooks a stunning 300 acre landscape, as well as an open-air ampitheater, and even 2 1/2 miles of nature trails!

That's all before you walk in the doors!

Inside the museum, you then get to meet over 200 living species in the impressive 100,000 gallon aquarium, and explore 73,000 sq ft of exhibits - complete with deer, fossils, waterfowl, and a number of endangered species local to the state.

Kids can learn all about the diverse habitats in Mississippi (and some may surprise you!), or you can go back in time and meet some creatures who used to roam the area - in fossil form that is! 

Have you ever wanted to see how big a giant Sloth really was, or a Mosasaurus? 

"The Swamp" is a 1,700 sq ft greenhouse just filled with stunning lush native plant garden, or kids can come face to face with the fascinating and fearsome Alligator Snapping Turtle! 

Kids always find it fun to check out Life Up Close, offering a closer look at the state's natural habitat, from the many creatures living in a tree trunk, to a buzzing beehive!
