About Mexic-Arte Museum

It's time to be inspired and surround yourselves with creativity, heritage and culture at the Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin!

The Mexic-Arte Museum is dedicated to education and cultural enrichment, through it's collection, preservation and presentation of traditional and contemporary art & culture - specifically Mexican, Latino and Latin American.

Founded back in 1984 by artists to offer cultural programs, the museum has grown into a celebration of art by established and emerging artists from all across the US, Mexico and Latin America.

The permanent collection within the museum contains over 1500 works of historic and contemporary art and material culture.

The Mexic-Arte Museum also features changing exhibitions across the year, each focusing on a specific theme to enable you to really immerse yourselves in an artist, or a genre, or a technique.

Because the exhibitions change, that means you can go back and plan your next visit around something new to see and experience! The Mexic-Arte Museum is also a great way for kids to start talking about what art means to them - what do they love? What are they not sure about? The colors, the techniques, the story - there is so much they take take away from art (and of course there is the inspiration too!)

A wonderful way for the kids and family to enjoy a cultural, historic, educational and creative family day out in the grand city of Austin!
