If you love history and nature, then the McKee Botanical Garden might just be your thing!

Located near Vero Beach in Florida, the botanical gardens are filled with stunning native and tropical plants, as well as that Florida sun and charm! It's a great place for kids to explore and get close to nature. In fact, there are around 18 acres to explore!

The McKee Botanical Garden features winding pathways, and majestic palms, and beautifully colorful waterlilies - a popular attraction for visitors.

Rich in history, McKee dates back 80 years and is recognized as one of Florida’s first and most treasured attractions. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and features two unique structures designed and built by founder and folk artist, Waldo Sexton.

The gardens have great fun for the kids too! Make sure that you check out the McKee's Garden Discovery Backpacks, perfect for kids aged 3 to 12 years. Each backpack features an educational guide, as well as a number of tools for exploration. There are five themes to choose from, including It's A Bugs World, and Garden Explorer!
 
The gardens also have fun festivals, events and temporary exhibits throughout the year, so you can look ahead and make sure you put those important dates in the diary.

I’m Hungry! Can I get food at McKee Botanical Garden?

The Garden Cafe is open seasonally, November through May, from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm which is a great place to pick up some tasty lunch or snacks!

Any top tips when visiting?

A hat or sunscreen is recommended because of that hot Florida sun. Bug spray is also available

Does McKee Botanical Garden have a gift shop?

The Garden Gift Shop is open daily during regular business hours and features handmade soaps, jewelry, books, garden accents, gifts - s best bring that pocket money!

Teachers corner

A great day in nature for students! Give them a call to book two weeks in advance if you have over 20 students, and give them a fun day out of the classroom!

Is McKee Botanical Garden fully accessible?

Wheelchairs are available and can be checked out at admissions at no cost!
