About Longo Planetarium

Kids love looking at the stars - so what better than to take them to a Planetarium show at Longo Planetarium in Morris County?

Longo Planetarium is part of the Morris Museum in New Jersey and provides all who visit with a unique experience where you can explore the wonders of the universe!

This fascinating museum is home to an observatory that offers stellar views of the cosmos. Longo planetarium features monthly shows which are perfect for families and school groups that cover a variety of topics.

These shows cover everything from ancient cultures viewing the stars to current space exploration. Have you ever wanted to be an astronaut? Well, at Longo Planetarium shows you can feel like you are actually exploring space yourself!

Each show is about 25 to 30 minutes long with no intermission and you may view the show in English or Spanish.

The planetarium uses the latest technology to project images of faraway galaxies and planets onto its dome-shaped theater ceiling, so that you feel as if you are flying through space with astronauts or dancing along with dancers from other cultures who also viewed the stars for meaning and guidance.

The Longo Planetarium also features the latest in star and space exploration, including events throughout the year that bring you to faraway places and introduce you to the people who live there. The planetarium hosts events for children and families, such as Space Discovery for Kids, where children can meet an astronaut, see live animals, and learn about the planets in our solar system. The planetarium also hosts events for adults, such as Under the Stars: Exploring the Solar System, where you can immerse yourself in the wonders of the universe, from the sun to the planets in our solar system.
