Long Beach Museum of Art
About Long Beach Museum of Art
Art is SO much fun - not only to create, but to look at, and learn from, and be inspired by!
The Long Beach Museum of Art is waiting with it's many exhibitions to get those creative juices flowing!
The museum has a number of exhibitions, both permanent and changing (which means there is always something new for you to see!)
The exhibitions always cover a range of topics and art forms - because art isn't just painting! It can come in the form of textiles, or sculptures, or glass work, or stencilling.
Some of the exhibits in the past has included "Small Treasures" which includes rarely seen objects made from all sorts of materials, including glass, metal and wood.
There are exhibits on various local artists, as well as artists from all over the world, and exhibits that offer insights into our culture!
It wouldn't be an art museum with some kind of hands-on workshops to actually let kids express themselves! There are family workshops, which are free, where kids can create artwork that has been inspired by what they have seen during their time in the Long Beach Museum of Art. Entry is on a first come first serve basis, and they are held the 3rd Sunday of every month From Sept to June, then EVERY Sunday in July and August!
Not only that, Art Chat! is a fun, informal and fascinating FREE 30 minute docent-led tour every Friday at 1pm where you can do an ask questions and hear all about elements of art that might surprise you!
Art is always changing, and there is no right or wrong answer as to whether you should like it or not. It's there to be talked about - so let's go!
