Lake Minatare
About Lake Minatare
What would you do if we gave you 2,000 acres of water to play in? Perhaps spend your family day out enjoying all the activities available with your family? If that's the case, then you better check out Lake Minatare State Recreation area!
There are plenty of exhilarating water sports to get the whole family involved in. Why not jump in that speedboat of yours and take to the lake? Maybe grab some water skis and get out practicing your balance and show off your skills!
If you are the one that loves to relax in the family, then head out to the beach for that afternoon of relaxing swimming and laying around in the sun!
If it's fishing that you love, then grab your fishing boat and cast away into one of the most popular spots in the area. There are a number of fish that you can try your luck with (sorry - use your skill to catch!) - including wipers, walleye and yellow perch. There are even modern fish-cleaning stations available for your use (anyone for fish for dinner?)
There are boat ramps around the lake just for you, and if you need a break, hang out at one of the picnic tables are the lake and take some shelter - perhaps enjoy lunch or dinner out in nature!
Did we mention there's a lighthouse - how cool is that! It's one of only seven lighthouse in the entire nation, and actually the ONE on in Nebraska!
If you wanted to turn it into a real adventure, grab those tents and set up camp at one of the 52 electrical camping sites (or if you really wanted adventure, there are 100 primitive sites).
Nature? Check. Fun? Check. Water? Check. Let’s go then!
