Aloha, and welcome to Ka Ala Hele Waiwai Ho'olina o Koloa, The Koloa Heritage Trail. Your journey will whisk you through 5 million years of exploration highlighting the natural history, archaeology, culture and history of the Koloa District of Kauai and its people.Rich with cultural, historical & geological sites, your journey begins at Spouting Horn Park, which features a natural blowhole created by waves crashing through a hole in the lava tube producing a fountain that can be 60 feet high.You will also go to Prince Kuhio Birthplace & Park, Hanaka'ape Bay & Koloa Landing, Pa'u a Laka (Moir Gardens) and Kihahouna Heiau (an ancient Hawaiian Temple).Next you can spend some time at Poipu Beach Park, Keoneloa Bay, Makawehi & Pa'a Dunes, Pu'uwanawana Volcanic Cone and Hapa Road.Your journey continues with a trip to Koloa Jodo Mission, Sugar Monument, Yamamoto Store & Kiloa Hotel and finally, Koloa Missionary Church.Wear good shoes, bring water and a camera and enjoy your holoholo ka'a (tour) around this heritage trail.
