About Jororo Native Village

The Jororo Native Village is a Native owned and Operated living history village that shows you how the original Natives of Florida survived 500 years ago. Pre-contact Native history.
The one hour tour has demonstrations to show you how the families were able to go through every day life and survive in the headwaters of the Everglades. We will wind up in a museum with over 12,000 years of original Florida artifacts.

The 30 minute bleachers seating would be the history of the natives without the demonstrations.
I have four different programs to offer from the 30 minute bleacher seating to the one hour tour. Evolution of the weapon! Paleo -Archaic– Woodland – and Mississippian time periods.with oragional artifacts and demonstrations.
The great alligator hunt! Learn four different methods on how to catch the legendary alligator deep in the swamps. One method is 1000+ years old. Second method is using the bone that is in my nose. Third method is how the youngsters of the village would be able to catch alligator. Rules and regulations of the state. It is against the law to even feed wild alligators. You must have permits and tags to hunt alligators in the state of Florida.

I am fourth generation educator on Native culture and also a primitive survivalist. What you will see in the village will either be original artifacts or items that had to be made by hand in order to bring this early time period to life.
The Jororo, the forgotten tribe of Florida!!!
