Jordan Valley Park
About Jordan Valley Park
A day at the park? Yes please! Park's are a GREAT way for families to enjoy time together, get some fresh air and immerse themselves in nature. It's also a great way for kids to PLAY!
Jordan Valley Park in Springfield is just that too! Located in the heart of the city, you can have a break in nature without even having to leave the city limits! What's also cool about this park, is that is was the community who thought it up! Over 300 citizens got together to design a place just for them...and you can feel the community spirit when you're there!
The park was designed to include a mixture of open spaces, water, meadows, buildings, plazas and playgrounds, so you can see already there is something for everyone - we don't have to tell you!
What's also great about Jordan Valley Park, is that you can visit no matter what the weather. On those not so summery days, there is indoor ice skating, as well as adult hockey sessions. These are done on their two NHL regulation sized ice sheets. Pretty cool!
Then, in the warmer months you can fin the Ozark Stream and Fountain, which is always popular with the kids. These were designed to reflect nature and the meandering Ozark stream, complete with ripples, waterfalls, and even a section that disappears under the walkway!
Don't be disappointed kids - we know what you're thinking. YES you can actually play in the water jets! A great way to cool off.
There is even a fountain show so you can sit back and be entertained by the lights and splashs.
So why not spend the day running around, playing, hiding, in that good old fashioned family way of just visiting a park.
Who needs speed coasters and IMAX thrills! Jordan Valley Park has all you need to keep it simple and fun!
