Jastro Park
About Jastro Park
If you're ever stuck for a family day out idea, why not try the old fashioned family park experience! If you're in Bakersfield, we know just the place....Jastro Park!
Jastro Park is so much more than a park. Built all the way back in 1917, this family friendly park has been giving families a great time for nearly 100 years! (That's a lot of family fun!)
After nearly 100 years of parklife, the trees have grown to offer some pretty special shady areas, and there is plenty of sunny space to be enjoyed too for those kids to run around.
There are two picnic areas which you can rent if you need (for those extended families!), and there is plenty of grass space for those lovely picnics.
Active kids will be in their element at Jastro Park, as there are seven tennis courts just waiting to be used, complete with lighting for those shorter spring and winter days.
If tennis isn't enough, the whole family can enjoy volleyball, horseshoes, and basketball. Even the basketball court has lighting to be used after that sun goes down!
Kids - do you love that summer heat but want to find a way to cool down? Then why not visit from around April/May until October, because that's when the spray park comes to life! This FREE fun water feature is a great way to cool off on those hotter days.
Jastro park also has sandlot style toys, from "tot lot" sized, to a larger kid's areas. They will find toys to swing on, crawl through, and climb on. We haven't forgotten those toys to slide down either!
Jastro Park is one of the more established parks in Bakersfield, so go and check it out for yourselves!
