Newfields and the Indianapolis Museum of Art
About Newfields and the Indianapolis Museum of Art
The Indianapolis Museum of Art was already a world-renowned museum showcasing the best of the art world, but attention was turned to combining art with nature, and Newfields was born. The galleries of the museum are surrounded by nature, and water features, and over a hundred acres of woodland filled with beauty (and a few surprises!) so this new combination has really enhanced the museum visit!
The space is perfect for performances, afternoon walks, kite-flying, making memories or just gazing at the clouds, talking about what art inspired you.
The exhibitions within the Indianapolis Museum of Art itself are always changing, so you can go back time after time and uncover something new an amazing. The exhibits might cover a specific artist and their inspirations, or they might cover certain techniques, or even genres.
Art comes in all forms too, so don't just expect paintings! You might see exhibits filled with fashion, or design, or sculptures. Art can be anything you want it to be!
The museum of art also has a permanent collection which you can explore on your own, or through the free guided tours they offer daily at 1pm.
There are plenty of things for the little ones to do too, with hands-on art activities, pretend play, art hunts and more!
So be inspired at the Indianapolis Museum of Art and Newfields, where art and nature make the perfect match!
