The Idaho State Museum is where people of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to explore how Idaho's unique landscapes have shaped, and continue to shape, the way those who call it home live!

The exhibits showcase the amazing relationship between the people and the land, and as soon as you walk into the lobby, you gain an incredible sense of the landscape of the area.

The Origins gallery is the story of Idaho's Native American tribes, and you can actually hear sounds of some of the state's native critters.

Lewis and Clark are features, as you uncover Idaho's three distinct geographic regions, and kids can learn about the rich history of mining, lumbering, and transportation - you can even feel the beat of the 1910 Big Burn! Ouch!

Experience a virtual chair life up a mountain, sit around a campfire, and discover how difficult the Oregon Trail really was for travelers.

You can even take a virtual bike ride through historic Boise!

Kids of all ages always love the hands-on experiences based on early professions and trades within the state, and make sure you stop at Deja Moo - the famous two-headed cow!

With a penny arcade, changing exhibits and a host of historic discoveries, it seems the Idaho State Museum might just show you there is more to Idaho than meets the eye!
