About Hunterdon Museum of Art
We LOVE art at Family Days Out, and we love places which exist JUST to show people how wonderful art can be!
Hunterdon Art Museum in New Jersey is located in a 19th century stone mill, so even the location is pretty cool to experience! (It's actually listed on the National Register of Historic Places!)
The museum offers a range of exhibitions covering design, contemporary art and design. It's also a great place for kids to enjoy some art classes and workshops too! Nothing like giving them a place to be creative after they have been inspired!
The exhibitions at the Hunterdon Art Museum cover a range of topics, and are always changing so there is always something new for you to enjoy with the family!
The exhibitions cover a range of artists too, with different styles, so kids will be able to find something they can relate to - something that draws them to it. It's a great way to start talking to them about the colors, and the techniques, and finding out what they really love about the pieces.
And yes - we mentioned classes! It's such a great way for kids to explore their creative side just a bit further. They have a range of classes, from painting with teens, to drawing and sculpture for 7 to 9 year old, and even comic and anime animation!
Each of the classes are designed for specific age groups, so you know your kids will be enjoying something age appropriate.
The Hunterdon Art Museum also have workshops for families too, so you can all get creative together!
Art fun in New Jersey all round - we can't wait to see what you create!
