About Gilbert House Children's Museum

Gilbert House Children's Museum is a lovely non-profit children's museum that wants to give kids a chance to be inspired to learn by creative play! It's such a fun place to play! They have a number of exhibits which challenge the kids, but let them have a great time too!

Just what we like to hear!

Tinker Tracks is a fun exhibit where kids can explore the idea of motion as they build tracks on metal walls. Then they can watch their ball go through the tracks, and here the fun starts as they get to tinker away to see how the ball's direction changes!

Outdoor play? Yes please! The Outdoor Discovery Center at Gilbert House Children's Museum is the largest community-built project in Salem (what a lovely place to live!) and now kids have a place to climb, slide, run and play! Here they can become the captain of a paddle wheel, or explore the inside of an animal cell (pretty cool!)

Those little kids will love Imagination Playground which is a super fun room full of big blue blocks to play with! The builder in them can run wild as they turn these blocks into fun new structures!

Imagination Station has a super fun "viewing bubble" where kids can be right in the thick of the action as the train makes it's way around them, and for those little ones under 2, the Play Room is the perfect place for imaginative play. Maybe they want to be a chef in the kitchen, or perhaps build a fort before enjoying the fun slide?

We haven't even begun to describe all the rooms yet! They can travel to China, visit a grocery store, and travel out into space!

Kids get so much out of bring creative and having fun, stimulating open play areas. Gilbert House Children's Museum is perfect for that!
