About Fossil Rim Wildlife Center

Who knew that the small Texas town of Glen Rose could be where you can imagine yourself out on the plains of Africa, spotting wildlife on your exciting safari?

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is 1,800 incredible acres where over 1,000 animals live peacefully in near-natural environments. That means no cages or exhibits - here, you get to experience a self drive-through wildlife park where the animals just roam free all day long!

Whether you decide to book a guided tour, or use your own car, you can make your way through the beautiful nature and try and spot all of those incredible animals that will be all around you!

If you're lucky, they might even come up to the car and say hi!

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is like the whole animal world has come to Texas. Maybe you will spot those cheetahs zooming across the plains, or that sneaky red wolf playing in the trees. It wouldn't be a Texas safari without those icons of the USA. Be in awe as those herds of American bison roam the lands in front of you, just as those cheeky roadrunners might catch your eye!

Then of course, those beautiful creatures of Africa will really give kids an experience they might never forget. Spotting those incredible bongos, giraffes and Oryx will be an exciting moment for those curious kids in itself, but when they have encounters with creatures such as the white rhino, it's an invaluable way for them to learn about conservation and endangered species - something Fossil Rim Wildlife Center really feels strongly about.

Let's not forget about the Children's Animal Center, where kids can actually have interactive hands-on fun with cute domestic animals too!

So why not get those safari caps on, and let's go on safari - Texas style!
