The 1800 acres of Forest Glen Preserve actually encompasses 4 separate nature reserves, plus 22 acres of savanna restoration territory.
A great way to see the area without getting lost is to grab a River Ridge Back Pack Trail, plus boating and canoeing is permitted on the Vermilion River. See the lot in one go from the top of the 72ft observation tower!
Hiking, camping and picnicking facilities provided, plus morel mushroom and berry picking are permitted within the park, but make sure you all know what you're picking!
