So what is the Explora Science Center experience?
Well, Explora is a new kind of learning place in New Mexico, where they welcome families of ALL ages to go and have real experiences with real things, enabling kids to put learning in their own hands.
Explora is part children's museum, part science center, and part self-discovery! Throughout Explora, kids will find a host of exhibits that will nurture thoughtful activity. Each exhibit has it's own theme, whether it be science, technology, engineering, art, or math. The exhibits are designed to engage visitors of all ages, and the scale of most exhibits is small, fitting on tabletops so great even for the younger kids!
The parts within the exhibits are hand-sized and made for manipulating, encouraging kids to really get hands-on with them - to discover, to create, to explore. Each of the exhibits feature interactive qualities, so kids can really feel involved in the learning process!
One minute they can experiment with balls and the effects of gravity. The next they can be looking at water and it's characteristics! They can work with recycled materials, investigate light, or see what amazing things they encounter with the microscopes.
For those creative kids they can even create their own characters and perform them in the theater!
Electricity, bubbles, fractions, and even riding a high wire bike....SO much to do at Explora, you might need to go back for a few family days out to really explore it all!
