Everson Museum of Art 3.2 (reviews)

There is so much to learn and discover when it comes to art - it comes in all forms and can be found all across the world! If you're in Syracuse and want to delve into the world of art, then check out the Everson Museum of Art. They have drawings, sculpture, pantings and graphics, and even ceramics, and their 11,000 pieces all have one thing in common: they are all American.

The Everson Museum of Art was actually the first museum to ever devote it's entire collection to American art. It's because of this, that kids can really get an understanding of how incredible American art is, and it also allows the museum to have direct encounters with the artists themselves.

The museum not only have rotating exhibitions (so you can always see something new!), but they have their permanent collection too. This way, if you have favorites, you can go back to see them too!

The permanent collection has around 11,000 objects, with paintings being the primary collection. If you have younger kids, they can still enjoy the colors on all the art work, and it's a great way to get them talking about what they like and don't like about it!

It's also a great way for kids to understand that art isn't just about paintings - it can be anything as long as they are expressing themselves! 

The Everson Museum of Art has Decorative arts, as well as works on paper from the 19th and 20th centuries, and even photos and videos.
