Great place! Sooo interesting! The best museum we've ever been, and I have been to lots. Spent 2.5 hours there easily without realizing it. Next time we'll plan on staying much longer. The 4-D movie was great, too! Love, love, love this place! Definitely worth the money!

I love visiting Dumbarton Oaks. The museum is free admission but there is an admission fee to the gardens in the warmer months. But the free museum is definitely worth a visit--stunning collection of Byzantine and Precolumbian artifacts. It's always a treat to stop in even if it is not terribly easy to find. Watch out for their peculiar hours.

Best gardens I have ever visited, the whole is not overwhelming which is often the case with extensive gardens. The exquisitely thoughtful design lends itself to layers of revelation as you ramble. I enjoyed every vista and found wonder with every turn. The house and museum are really what all museums should be; fascinating, intelligent, relaxing and edifying.
