About Disneys Blizzard Beach

Do you think you can handle one of the worlds tallest and fastest free-falling waterslides!?  It sounds scary!  But if you are up for the challenge, then Blizzard Beach - one of two water parks within Walt Disney World Resort - is the place to head.

Blizzard beach is an exhilarating water park with a ski theme.  Sounds a bit strange doesn’t it?  But its definitely very fun - and has something for the whole family.

The relaxing Cross Country Creek takes you right around the entire park on an inner tube, so you can sit back and listen to all the screams and laughter from those on the fast paced thrill rides!  A great way to take a moment out of the hustle and bustle of the park.

For those wanting a bit more speed, the Runoff Rapids allow you to ride with a friend down three different waterslides thanks to the run off from the infamous Mount Gushmore!

Fancy taking on that challenge we mentioned earlier!?  Then the Summit Plummet is for you.  This ride has a height restriction so only those brave souls over 48 inches can participate, but be prepared for your stomach to sink!  It is a near vertical drop - and one of the tallest and fastest freefall slides on the planet.   Did we tell you the slope is 120 foot drop?  That’s 12 stories!  It makes us nervous even thinking about it.

Good luck!

Disneys Blizzard Beach FAQ’s

I’m Hungry! Can I get food at Disneys Blizzard Beach?

It won’t be long before you are saying “I’m full!”....There are 8 counter service options around the park serving classic American foods. The fun to say Lottawatta Lodge serves up cheeseburgers, pizza, wraps....if you fancy more BBQ flavors of pulled pork and Jerk Chicken, then the Warming Hut is the place to be, and if you want to cool down with ice creams and smoothies, then visit Frostbite Freddy’s Frozen Freshments (say that quickly!)

Any top tips when visiting?

Its recommended that you rent a locker, especially because on the big thrill rides you often might lose track of hats, jewelry and valuables. Also, don’t forget to bring suitable water shoes or flip flops!

Does Disneys Blizzard Beach have a gift shop?

You can never walk around a Disney park without seeing a place to buy fun and exciting toys and souvenirs. You might want to stock up so try and buy all your gifts towards the end of your time there so you don’t have to be carrying them around, and can concentrate on which ride to go on next!

Is Disneys Blizzard Beach fully accessible?

The Disney parks do all they can for those with disabilities. Guest Services will help with what rides and areas you can visit depending on your disability, and will offer any assistance they can, so no-one will miss out.
